Group Therapy

There is an incredible power to the process of sitting with others in a safe emotional space. As foreign as it may feel, considering making one’s self vulnerable to not only a therapist, but a group of strangers…a magic develops over time, when that same group of people sit with one another and begin form the their own norms, rules, elevate communication patterns… come to an understanding. -A small representation of our human dynamic and what may be possible on a grander scale.

CSUF’s esteemed professor Dr. Jeffrey Kottler nurtured my group-think, and after running various anger management and coping skill-based groups in community agencies, I feel energized to sit with and support groupings of individuals with similar situations and goals for change, in a very cool, connecting and life-altering way.

Group therapy sessions with Well 1 will inevitably have “lives of their own”, as these program sessions ebb and flow with whoever shows up and with whatever needs “we” have.

Telehealth will be utilized during COVID-19 pandemic, to safely bring us together, -apart.

Well 1 is currently in the process of forming the following groups:

  1. AMFT and DMH support
  2. Adolescent HSP processing and support group
  3. Parenting “Oxygen mask” group

Good Faith Estimate with “No Surprises Act” of 2022.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
